Ernesto Gianoli

My main research goals are to seek functional explanations for ecological patterns detected in the field or established in the ecological literature, and to better understand the ecological and evolutionary consequences of plant interactions with herbivores and the environment. I have a particular interest in testing ecological hypothesis in model systems, integrating approaches from different scales or research areas.

I intend to have a research team mostly composed of graduate students and post-docs, but will welcome undergraduate students showing outstanding scientific motivation and responsibility. Members of my research team will be free to address scientific questions of their interest as far as they are related to plant or insect ecology.

There are funding opportunities for PhD students and post-docs. Contact me (egianoli@userena.cl) if you are interested in joining our research group, or contact people from the lab to get another viewpoint.
